About Me

Hello, my name is Sally Pickering and I have over 25 years’ experience in playing the piano. I started when I was young and over the years I have come to enjoy a wide variety of musical styles. I really believe in having fun whilst learning. Playing pieces of music that you know and love gives a great sense of satisfaction and achievement, so you will learn to play songs you’ve always wanted to play as well as learning a range of other musical styles, as this helps to build different techniques and skills. I have a great love of music and playing the piano is my favourite thing to do. I hope to pass this passion onto each pupil to inspire them to go as far as possible with learning, in my opinion, the best instrument there is.

I am offering piano lessons from total beginners – absolutely no experience necessary and any age is welcome, you are never too young or old to start, or continue, learning. I have pupils aged from 5 to 85! Whether you want to learn for fun or to track your progress by taking ABRSM grades, the lessons can be tailored to your individual needs, pace and style of learning.

The length of your lesson is entirely up to you; we can devise a schedule together to fit your circumstances and how fast or slow you wish to go. We can adjust the times at your request, as you make progress.

I teach from my studio in Vicars Cross in Chester on a beautiful Yamaha U3 piano.

Lessons will be taught on my beautiful Yamaha U3 upright piano. It’s expansive soundboard and acoustic chamber allows it to produce a brilliant sound and it is a real pleasure to play.
